Once the outdated incompatible plugins are filtered out, it should mean less people running into problems. I'm not familiar with npm but would think there is a version compatibility so any plugin set to lower than say 0.5.2 does not get installed?

This is a relly cool projekt -
This is a relly cool projekt@j3nkl3r I think once it's stable enough, nodebb and nodebb CMS would work well for your sites. I'm guessing it's still a long way off.

[nodebb-plugin-custom-homepage] Basic CMS plugin - custom homepageLooking at this and wondering about the photo in the first post. What is the sample blog post? Is that just another forum post but styled differently or something else altogether. If it works like wordpress, one less software to install and make it 100% nodebb. Anyone with experience care to give examples of how this works?

Is there a roadmap? Badges, Theme Rocket, etc?@psychobunny Can't wait to see what you guys have up your sleeves. Spoil us!

Theme Plugin Compatibility List@julian Good to hear! Will keep an eye on it. Thanks!!

Theme Plugin Compatibility ListIs there a complete list of what is compatible (themes/plugins) with the latest stable version of nodebb (0.5.1) or is nodebb still too early for production? Really want to give nodebb a chance but if it means more headaches upgrading from each minor version I prefer to skip and circle back later on when it reaches version 1.0.0. In the meantime, I'm willing to continue to play and test leading up the magical milestone. Thoughts?

dashboard acp very high cpu@Alex Appreciate you taking the time to help. I ran into more problems and have decided to just start over. Hopefully I get better results. I'm guessing it's because nodebb haven't reached the 1.0 release milestone.

Firefox Warning - Website Not Fully Secured@Ted as long as it's not a full page warning most users won't notice it. the full page warning will certainly cut your site visits drastically.

Firefox Warning - Website Not Fully SecuredWouldn't this be a problem for those that expect to see a lock or something similar but instead get a warning. Wouldn't this simply scare them away? For the technical minded it's not a major issue but for visitors that are "trained" to look for certain security items before signing up or using the site it might be. I haven't ventured into that part of the self hosted nodebb setup yet but hopefully that can be avoided especially when users start embedding links. Maybe others that have a nodebb ssl setup can share their experience. Just a thought.

Firefox Warning - Website Not Fully SecuredI'm seeing a warning from Firefox when browsing nodebb community.
The connection to this website is not fully secure because it containes unencrypted elements (such as images).

dashboard acp very high cpu@Alex Sorry to bother you with this. Have been trying for the past hour following steps and different commands but wasn't able to get to 0.5.2 - what are the steps?
I stopped nodebb, then git fetch and checkout following the guide here: https://docs.nodebb.org/en/latest/upgrading/index.html - even tried other steps I found in another topic. The ease of wordpress spoiled me.

dashboard acp very high cpu@Alex cool thanks! When I look at the version under acp it is showing 0.5.1 - showing it is the latest and doesn't show there is a newer version. Is 0.5.2 consider for production or still under testing? Maybe that's why it's not showing up in ACP? Just taking guesses as I'm still very new to nodebb.
-
dashboard acp very high cpuIt seems that the dashboard acp causes high cpu and slows everything down. Unable to switch between browser tab. If I close the tab that has nodebb, everything works again and no problem switching between browser tabs.
Here's the before and after graph:

Login when maintenance mode is active? That was an easy fix. It's better than reinstalling. Onwards with more testing. Thank you!

[SOLVED] Issue with some plugins in ACP v0.5.2Glad I bumped into your post. Can you share where you are making this modification so that I can test it on my end? I'm hoping it will resolve the crashing issue with blog comments. I was reinstalling so many things thinking I misconfigured wordpress and nodebb somehow and kept trying to find where the admin error was coming from. It was really frustrating.
-
npm install error messages@julian your explanation eases my concerns. Would be nice to see none at all but at least we know it's not critical to the operation of nodebb for production. Thank you!!
-
npm install error messagesPerhaps I'm not interpreting the error message correctly. Isn't it asking for earlier version of node? If so, what is calling for that and is that something that can be corrected on the nodebb side looking for an older version?
Since my ubuntu setup has v0.10.25 and nodejs site shows v0.10.32 (don't think we need to constantly upgrade), I'm curious what the minimum is for nodebb 0.5.1

npm install error messagesRunning ubuntu 14.04 64-bit. I even did another test run with clean install after apt-get update and upgrade.

Forum Updated Message@Hưng-Thành-Nguyễn said:
@peter for more details, when you restart/reload the forum in the ACP or in CLI, it will ask you to refresh the page to apply the changes such as templates... NodeBB is non-reloading template system, everything is loaded when you first load the forum. It just reload the data when you click the links or have a new data push to it then it render with preload templates.
Thanks for the details!

@peter If you are seeing that message and you are not doing anything related to restarting or reloading, your NodeBB is crashing repeatedly and automatically bringing itself back to life.
Run
./nodebb log
and show us if there are any errors loggedI saw it here on nodebb.org when I first signed up and was browsing around. Didn't understand it so that led me to post the topic. Noted your tip. Thanks!

Login when maintenance mode is active?@julian I believe I have 0.5.1 version since I started over yesterday. Will give your suggestions a try. Thanks!!
