change the nodebb portHello, I am installing a new nodebb instance and I have some other application running on the port 4567 which is the default port of nodebb. How can I change that default port on the nodebb?
Regards,

Forum down@ron_jeremy ok you have redis on epel repo, Just run yum install redis.
-
Forum down@ron_jeremy how about yum search redis?
-
Forum down@ron_jeremy OK it seam you have your redis installation screwed. Backup your database if it is not empty run rpm -e redis-2.8.19-2.el7.x86_64 . Then yum install redis-server. That should fix the installation
-
Forum downDo you have redis-server installed? Try running rpm -qa | grep redis
-
Forum downyour redis server is not running. You need to start it first. I would suggest to run service redis-server start. Then check for redis with netstat -ntlp. Once the redis server is up and running then you can start the nodebb application
-
Forum downCan you run a netstat -ntlp to see if redis is actually running on your system?

Getting errors doing npm install --production@Lettuce cd to your nodebb path then type git checkout master then run git pull,
then you can go on with the standard installation procedure. -
Deploy NodeBB in a subfolder of a site@Henry-Jia said:
Could you please tell me if there has some limitation such as where to deploy the NodeBB.
It does not have any known limitation.

Fresh install ?@djcyry then use the setup and create a new database for it. If you were using 0 and 1 you can select 2 for the database.
-
Fresh install ?@djcyry NodeBB address in use, that mean there is a nodebb server started. You should use netstat -ntlp to find out the pid of the process and then kill it with kill -9 <pid>
Drop db? yes it's recomended if you have an empty database(no data in it). Stop the redis-server delete the dump.rdb and start the redis-server. -

I have tried 2 options , no results ( i have rebooted the vps , restart forum , restart redis)
set the requirepass restart the redis-server and use the cli client to test the authentication of redis. If that work but nodebb does not want to accept it I would suggest to drop the existend database from nodebb and stat with a new one. Also delete the config.js and start with ./nodebb setup after deleting the nodebb database.

Obviously the masterauth is not the one you need since that is used for the cluster. The one is needed is requirepass. After setting that password restart the redis, update your nodebb config with the redis password you set and restart it.

Deploy NodeBB in a subfolder of a siteNodebb config should look like this:
{ "url": "http://domain.com/forum", "secret": "somehash", "database": "redis", "redis": { "host": "127.0.0.1", "port": "6379", "password": "somepass", "database": "0" } }
Your nginx config (in case you use nginx) should look something like this:
server { listen 80; server_name domain.com; #charset koi8-r; access_log /var/log/nginx/access.log main; error_log /var/log/nginx/error_log; location / { some code for /; } location ^~ /forum { proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_set_header X-Nginx-Proxy true; proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:4567; proxy_redirect off; # Socket.IO Support proxy_http_version 1.1; proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade; proxy_set_header Connection "upgrade"; } }

Social login@djcyry You need to activate it first. Then reload the the NodeBB from Dashboard -> reload the browser. Then configure then in the Social Authentication section.
