@pitaj that's true but if not done properly, aliasing links could be very dangerous for a site's search engine ranking. Personally, I wouldn't go down that route (no pun intended ha).

Feature request: Ability to rename routes -
How to return a 404 page for a given route?@Kowlin thanks but I don't really want a custom Nginx 404 page. I'd prefer the NodeBB 404 template (2nd screenshot) to be used.

How to return a 404 page for a given route?I'm using Categories as my home page route so have no need for the example.com/categories page. I thought hey, why not have Nginx return a 404 page when users try to visit
/categories
:location /categories { return 404; }
But my bright idea isn't quite working because I get the standard ugly Nginx 404 template:
Does anyone know how I can get the Nodebb 404 template to show instead? For example:

Star icon appears then disappears@psychobunny was thinking about the use of a star, it feels like I've favourited something. How about use something like the bookmark icon instead?

Star icon appears then disappears@psychobunny thanks for letting me know. Sounds like a cool feature

Star icon appears then disappearsI keep seeing a little blue star icon thingy
<i class="fa fa-star"></i>
appear in topics next to my post, then it disappears. Why does it do that? -
Feature request: Ability to rename routes@yariplus I think the alias idea is a bad one because you'd end up with lots of duplicate content.

What is the Home > Users > Map page used for?@psychobunny usually a "user map" refers to a geographic map of user locations around the world. That's the kind of map I was expecting when I visited the page for the first time. But I understand now that this page is more like a "heat map" of the site (i.e. which site pages have current activity).
Regarding ideas for layout, I'll have a think...

What is the Home > Users > Map page used for?@HolyPhoenix Right, that makes sense. I thought it must have been something along those lines. Thanks

What is the Home > Users > Map page used for?It isn't very clear what the info means on the following page:
https://community.nodebb.org/users/map
There's some links and avatars displayed and I have no idea why? Forgive me for being dumb.

Feature request: Ability to rename routesThe ability to easily rename route slugs is high on my wishlist. For example, I'd like to have
/forums/
instead of/categories/
/forum/3/
instead of/category/3/
/members/
instead of/users/
Currently, routes seem to be hard-coded and changing them is kind of difficult.

Can't remove forum logo in 0.8.2I opened an issue for this.
Can't remove forum logo in 0.8.2 路 Issue #3734 路 NodeBB/NodeBB

Can't remove forum logo in 0.8.2I can't seem to remove the forum logo using the latest version. I do see a "Logo removed" message when I click on the remove button in Settings > General > Site Logo but the logo is still displayed in my site's header.
Anyone else seeing the same?

W3C validationdata-component is a fix for ~20 of the errors and there's a few more "single" fixes that address > 1 error so validating won't be as hard as it looks.
But I was trying to rally some more eyes to look through the errors because there's some I'm stumped on how to fix best.

Active sites using NodeBB@julian Yeah, with something like this it's important to be transparent. I'm guessing any disgruntledness (is that even a word?) will come from people not realising their install is being tracked.
-
W3C validationThe NodeBB homepage (Persona) currently has ~48 validation errors when you run the page through the W3C Validator.
When I checked last month, the error count was > 100. Much progress has been made but It'd be great to get NodeBB to validate. What do you guys think?

Active sites using NodeBB@psychobunny # of clones wouldn't be a good figure to use. Take me, I've cloned about 3 times yet have just one live site.
I'd be happy to opt in to install tracking. Really don't see a problem with that

Scrolling on mobile Persona makes page jump@baris I think your fixes yesterday might have solved it. I'm not seeing it happen on this forum now.

Scrolling on mobile Persona makes page jump -
Scrolling on mobile Persona makes page jumpWhen I use my Nexus 7 to scroll through a topic's posts, the page seems to temporarily move left about 20px then almost instantly it moves back again to cover the full screen.
This only started happening since the "n out of n" feature was fixed to the footer.
