Register theme from local folder instead of npm@julian Tried that. On the first part I get a warning of missing repository field. And on the second part I get the error above.

Register theme from local folder instead of npmI'm starting to make friends with nodebb. I like Persona template but I also want to use it with material design buttons. Since I need some less and js for that, downloaded quickstart to make a child theme.
How can I load the blank template from a local folder instead of publishing it to npm repository? Followed the solution from this topic but at the second part I get this error
Link target resolves to the same directory as link source: /home/admin/web/mysite/public_html/node_modules/nodebb-theme-bee

Trim long titles js issue@baris Thank you. I'll try that and probably need to add a width in percent to the container. I'm using Material and doesn't have that.

Trim long titles js issueI want to use js to trim long titles in topic lists for a cleaner look on my forum.
First option gives me a
.jquery() not defined error
when I add the part to initialize the script on Appearance > custom javascript . The second solution is just this small piece of code from a tutorial that simply works.var truncate = function (elem, limit, after) { // Make sure an element and number of items to truncate is provided if (!elem || !limit) return; // Get the inner content of the element var content = elem.textContent.trim(); // Convert the content into an array of words // Remove any words above the limit content = content.split(' ').slice(0, limit); // Convert the array of words back into a string // If there's content to add after it, add it content = content.join(' ') + (after ? after : ''); // Inject the content back into the DOM elem.textContent = content; }; var elem = document.querySelector('.short'); truncate(elem, 10, '...');
The problem I have though is that post titles are visible at full lenght then trimmed. Sometimes not trimmed at all. I guess maybe that code needs to be loaded faster but I have no clue how to solve that.
Thank you for any help.

Excessive Load WarningThis is my first day with NodeBB and I don't know how everything works.
Since the site is basically new, but testing different bits here and there, I was a little bit worried getting two times an error page with Excessive Load Warning. I have a VPS with one core and 2GB of RAM.

Configuration Error: unknown database@baris Thank you so much. Caught in the installing process didn't saw that. Now I have a working NodeBB site. For the first test install used everything as is in the tutorial so database is nodebb.
