Manifold Garden is an indie puzzle game absolutely incredible.
Something between Portal and Superliminal, maybe? Gorgeous, peaceful, and if you like Maurits Cornelis Escher aesthetic this is for you. You have to solve the puzzles by exploring geometrical spaces and play with gravity.Smart move: each plan is linked with a color and a sound.

In TOEM you're a photographer and you need to find clues through your lens to progress through the game. It is funny and beautiful, another game I enjoyed a lot. I'm not into the sound design here but graphic design is sweet and poetic.

In Papers, Please you need to check people papers to let them enter your city or not.
I played it for maybe less than 45min and stopped. It was awful because of the whole idea to refuse people into the city but also because of my ADHD: you have to check a LOT of things to let them enter or not.
I hated it, and I guess it's the whole point of the game.

No Longer Home is a queer adventure game where you follow the story of Bo an Ao. I don't know if we can call it a game because you almost just follow their thoughts on everything. Like an interactive story. They're moving so they are at a turning point in their lives and reflect on everything. I guess it's a game about saying goodbye to an old life. So it's kind of depressing sometimes but still nice if you like to dive in that kind of process.

Land of Screens is an indie game where you're Holland, trying to get through a recent breakup while avoiding social medias and spending quality time with people she likes.
The game is very short and easy, also the visual design is sweet. I get the whole point about the screens and how addictive this can be but there is no counterpoint about that and it's a bit sad I think?

Unpacking is a sweet little game where you basically follow your character as she grows while you unpack the boxes and tidy up the places as the story unfolds. Very sweet, not much long, and peaceful.

Old Man's Journey is a short little puzzle game, absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. A bit repetitive but if you just want to see beautiful digital paintings along the way, this is for you.
-
Girls Like Robots is a puzzle game where you need to put some tiles together but sometimes they like each other, sometimes, they don't.
It's completely absurd and fun in a way? Weeeeird. -
Overcooked! 2 is a cooperative game (1 to 4 players) where you have to cook together in some very interesting kitchens. Sometimes things are moving or disappear, you need to be fast so it can be super frustrating.
You can also play it solo and switch between two chefs. It can be a good exercise to learn how to let go when levels of stress and frustration are high. This is my third time and it gets better, I guess?

I finished It Takes Two, a long platform coop game with a lot of stuff. You play Cody or May, two parents getting a divorce. But they transform into these dolls and have to relearn how to love each other to be human again and find their daughter Rose.
The game is visually very rich and the worlds are amazing but it's clearly not my kind of game because: platform. And I'm really not fond of the ending, beware, this is heteroland 1.1.

I absolutely loved this game but yes, I do love platform games and yes, it is very hetro. That said it also has the most extraordinary variety of gameplay that I've seen in a long time. While yes, most of it is puzzle/platform, along the way there are also parts that are flight sim, beat em up, shooter, sport, dungeon crawler, board game, mini games, casual etc.
I do think there could have been a much more nuanced ending though. Some kind of queer polyam end would have been fun.

You're right there is many things in it, not just platform. I still think the story is a bit boring though. But I enjoyed most of it.

Yeah, I can agree that the story was pretty formulaic and omg I wish they could have sprung for a child actor to voice Rose rather than what was obviously an adult trying to sound like a child.
