What would be the worst tech company* to buy chrome?

Oracle?
Broadcom?

*That doesn't also run a search engine/browser, so no Microsoft

@[email protected] I think if the new owner is anyone other than Microsoft, Apple, or maybe Amazon or Facebook, then Chrome will fall into Firefox-style irrelevance.

People nowadays use Chrome either because
a)It's the default on their operating system, or
b)The most popular websites tell them to use Chrome.

Without Google or a similar-sized company propping up Chrome, Edge will become the dominant desktop browser. Microsoft will hard-fork Chromium, and before you know it we'll be back in 2005 where websites only work on Internet Exploredge running on Microsoft Windows.
