@aya I also find this plugin, but it does not work since it is too old.

is IE supported?

I don't use IE, but since it's just a browser, I don't see why not. I guess the easiest way to find out is to browse this site with IE.
The critical requirement will be support for Websockets.
-
Since NodeBB uses bootstrap there sadly should be support for IE 8+ (source).
-
Here's a website that will give you more info about your favorite browser and support for modern Web technologies: Iwanttouse.com.
-
IE8 is supported but currently broken and pending few fixes. stay tuned.
-
Perhaps we could have a plugin that detects if a visitor's browser is not supported, then auto-redirects to a page showing a list of supported browsers that the user may upgrade to.
-
@planner it's hard to tell if the browser is not supported, it's more like, this browser doesn't support that feature - however, with this pull request getting merged, I can say that NodeBB officially supports down to IE8 (decently) as of the latest, however, things like Drag N Drop and Paste from clipboard doesn't work, but it fallsback to the old-fashion select a file to upload type of thing.
Anything older than IE8 will probably look wonky, but to address your comment, you're right, maybe i should've added like a conditional to show an alert for really old browsers, without knowing what it does or does not support, with a link to browsehappy.com

IE has far more likes than I would've expected...

6.5m people like you and I, except for the fact that they use IE and make the world harder for web-developers
Maybe a bit to much browser-hating for one post so I have to say that I like both: Chrome and Fx, Opera is OK too...
