Well, that's some development in the Appalachian Threnody case:
The suspect's father, [C. G.], 54, was arrested on four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said today.
[C. G.] gave his son an AR-15 style rifle as a gift, two law enforcement sources said. It's unclear when he gave the gift, but it was after authorities interviewed the father and son last year in connection with threats to carry out a school shooting,
The suspect was a new student at Apalachee High, having only been there for a partial day. The day of the shooting was his first full day at the school, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said.
This sort of parental prosecution is probably going to become more common now after the Crumbley ruling from Michigan.

@riley It'd be nice if we could sue lawmakers for making laws that allow shit like this to happen, too.

@woozle I'm sure if everybody tells the lawmakers that, they'll get right on it and create a Lawmaker Accountability Act 2024, which creates some new tax cuts for the rich, requires the fœtus's photo ID for people who vote while pregnant, and introduces a procedure whereby, if the legislature unanimously accepts that a specific member of it has been naughty, allows every legislator to throw three ripe tomatoes at an effigy of a generic legislator. Journalists can watch, but not take photos.
