@thisismyglasgow The M8 was a product of its time I guess. Would that it didn't cut the city in two. I'd suggest a Stonhenge style tunnel but that's been cancelled so heaven know how we'd afford one for the M8. Living in hope that one day the scar will be erased.

@emsquared don’t recall exactly, but I think it was mostly saying that completion of the ring road idea originally planned for Glasgow would’ve been better than gouging the centre of the city. That was 1987/88 and the traffic only got much worse since of course. The part that joins to the M74 made a big difference I think. When I had to commute from the west to east it made the M8 a lot quieter.
