Can you offer any feedback to the post above from our tech person?
Thanks in Advance,
Not sure if it a bug, But I enabled notifications from this site. After some time my FF hanged and I had to restart the browser. Just thought of reporting.
It happened again. I blocked notifcations.
@meetdilip Hm, sounds like it's not an isolated incident then. Can you run Firefox via the command line and let us know what output is shown when it freezes, if any?
console Starts the application with a debugging console. firefox.exe -console
FYI I'm running Firefox and Aurora with no problems.
It hasn't happened since I disable "display notifications ".
Happened again. I think chat is the culprit.
Oh. Is Chat the PM system in NodeBB ?
yup. its basically identical to PM except in real time. You can leave offline messages as well. I guess the ability to archive messages is something that would be missing but other than that I feel its a pretty solid alternative. What do you think?
do you know exactly what happened when your FF froze?
Nice name for PM. Hope future releases gets access to old chats. As for freezing of FF, it happened twice when I was playing with chat window. After I disabled notifications, it hasn't happened. As you mentioned, it must be the notifications that is causing the issue.
Froze again a minute before even with notifications disabled. I am not sure if has something to do with too many tabs open in FF. But other sites works well.
@meetdilip Give the
-console flag a try
Let me know if you experience the same issue on clanhub as well, I'll be able to pin down what the problem is, perhaps something in the theme. We identified something that shouldn't perform very well on really slow computers and we're steps away from resolving that, by 0.3.1 at least (
ajaxify.onchange vs checking DOM for page load). Out of curiosity, what's your browser version and OS?
@meetdilip Give the
-consoleflag a try
Please don't mind Julian. FF is my main browser. I have many tabs which I have left for future reading. I do not want to mess with them.
@psychobunny I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with latest version of Firefox stable. My laptop has an i5 processor, 6 GB RAM and 1 GB Graphics card.
