The imgbed plugin removes the need for adding in markdown. You just paste the URL of the image and it adds the markdown on the fly using regexp.
Deleted posts removal

I have a large number of deleted posts that I have moved to a private category, however I am now drowning in these deleted posts can it be made possible to make them go away permanently by putting them in a cat that is invisible? not showing in some way because its a pain now but in 6-12 months time it is going to be a major ball ache with all these unwanted posts.

Yep -- if you "disable" a category, you'll still be able to move posts into that category.
Any particular reason why you remove posts instead of simply deleting them and leaving them in the original category?

I move them to keep the original category clean and tidy.

Keep in mind if a topic is deleted, it is shown faded out to admins, but to regular users, it is gone, as far as they can tell.

@Julian Thanks works well, not sure if this is a bug but when you move a post I then have to refresh the browser then click on the home tab to get any response from the site.

Just to be clear, the move is made then I get a blank site with the nav bar but nothing else and no response from any of the site icons until I refresh the browser, I will try on chrome to see if it's a browser issue.
Same thing on safari and chrome. -
I will take a look, seems like the post isn't removed from the DOM when you move it.

@baris - this reproduces on latest? I know I fixed an issue with the ajaxify on latest...
