Maybe it’s my modern sensibilities but it came across as a mentally ill dad passing his trauma along to his son while spouting a Western take on Eastern philosophies.
Am I just a philistine or did the book not age well?

@carnage4life I found the central message of being engaged with and involved in the physical details of your own life to be very inspiring.
Software and computers are even more complex than motorcycles and their parts, but there is a similar power in building and assembling your own technology compared to using what you're told to.

@carnage4life I recognize that having the surplus time, materials and attention to craft your own technical environment is a privilege, but it's also really rewarding.

@carnage4life I also enjoy being engaged with cooking food, gardening, and working on my car and my house. I'm not always great at all of them, but I feel like I am living more fully when I participate in the mechanics of my own life.
