@Jim-Bridger moderators don't have the ability to adjust group membership, unless they also happen to be owners of said group (which if you're creating a custom group, is doable)
Then they can add and remove users from the group details page.

Hello. Sorry to bump such an old thread. I also am trying to get Group Labels to show up in my NodeBB app. I have Group Labels set up in the "Manage" > "Groups" section of the Admin panel, but in the front end, they aren't showing up. It seems that there's a setting somewhere that I have turned off, which needs to be turned on, and I can't figure out where to do that.
I checked in the Settings > Users area and Settings > Groups area and there doesn't seem to be anywhere to turn on Group Labels.
The theme I am using is Persona. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
How can I have Group Labels show up?

@Kowlin Ah okay. That did fix the problem. However, for the type of community we are running, we need our Groups to be hidden, but we would also like to have Group Labels shown in posts people make. Is there any way to have both hidden Groups and Group Labels shown?

Not that I'm aware of, but you can hide the groups button at the top of the forum.
