@a_5mith vine. Oh, oh vine. Why. Poor vine.
[nodebb-plugin-rss] RSS Feed plugin
This working in the latest release? Seems to stop after one post for me.
Also seems to be parsing markdown or something improperly but I think that's another issue altogether.
Ah yes, duplicate post issue here as well. +1 Duplicate post.
$30 paypal bounty to the first person that can fix the duplicate posting issue
@Pyrax sent a PR for the duplicate post issue, merged and published 0.2.1
Thanks, @Pyrax !
Ooh, does @pyrax get $30 now? XD
Does NodeBB get a finders fee for facilitating this transaction? XD

It is posible to retrieve a youtube channel videos and post every new video uploaded?
The sames as for blogs, but for youtube. I am looking at the google youtube api, but I can't figured how to do it.
@Normando Hey buddy, sort of. Your mileage may vary with this one. It depends how Baris' plugin works.
Youtube has an RSS feed you can use, but I'm not sure quite how it would work with this plugin. Add this to your RSS feed input box, then where you want it to go, then test it I guess.
Replace USER_ID with the usernameor channel ID of the youtube channel. (You can enter this URL into your browser and it will return the feed. For example: This Link would show you all the videos from Tom Scott in RSS feed format.
EDIT: You can also use this link to fetch the images as well if you want slightly more information.
@julian Haha, he would if I could test it.
Doesn't seem to be working for me. I add the RSS feed and it seems to do an initial pull (I have it set for 1 minute) but doesn't continue looking (or at the very least, nothing new gets added).
Very strange how I delete the RSS feed, add it. It pulls all items and they show up fine. Duplicate appear to have stop showing up, but nothing new shows up either for me, it seems. Unfortuantely there's no verbose output when running nodebb dev so I can't see it trying to do anything either.
I'll keep messing around with it and see if it's something on my end I guess.
Fixed a bug and published a new version(0.2.2). It might fix the issue where new posts aren't showing up.
@baris Was this just a moment ago? As part of my troubleshooting - I removed it and reinstalled it like 30 mins ago.
Yeah I just fixed it 10 mins ago.
@baris I gave it an update and it's still not working. Is there any verbose output anywhere so I can try and give you more info?
If there are any errors the plugin logs them to the console or the output.log file in your nodebb folder.
If you want to add more logging you can modify the plugin source to see what's going on.
For example if you want to see what the plugin pulls from google every minute you can add a
@baris Instead of just removing and reinstalling from CP, went to install from git and getting this error:
error: Error: Cannot find module 'to-markdown'
I'm assuming my install is out of date?
You need to run npm install to get the dependencies.
@baris I just did it all again, which resolved that error - but now I'm getting this one:
error: TypeError: Cannot read property 'applyCSRF' of undefined
at Object.module.init (/srv/forums/node_modules/nodebb-plugin-rss/index.js:28:60)
The 0.2.2 version of the plugin is compatible with nodebb 0.6.0. It won't work with nodebb 0.5.x.
If you are using nodebb 0.5.x you need use the 0.1.22 version of the plugin, although that version doesn't have the fixes.
Ah, well that's a pickle. A few random plugins don't seem to be working with 0.6 and I just had some general issues with it so I went back to a stable build.
I'll try upgrading again.
For the plugins that are not working you can either open issues on their github repos or make a thread in the NodeBB dev category. We updated most of the core plugins to be compatible with 0.6.0 but there plently of 3rd party plugins that are not yet updated.
