Mobile view for profile page is not optimised for mobile users. Very well designed stuff. But this small but very very huge thing is left by your designers.
Secondly i was not able to install it on Google Cloud.

I'm new to NodeBB
Below the menu, above the categories, I'd like to put a banner in, just on the home page.
Is there a plugin/setting to do this? Or do I have to write one from scratch myself while crying into my beer?

@Drew-Llewellyn Use the homepage header widget, create an HTML widget and fill it with what you need.
