Problem with twitter widget

Created a HTML widget on home.tpl and pasted a twitter widget code. The widget works fine the first time I go to the homepage. If I navigate to a different page in the forum and navigate back to the homepage using the header logo link or "Home" in the breadcrumb, the twitter widget does not work. It just displays the anchor tag text of the twitter widget. Works fine if I refresh the page. Any help fixing this?
