Pleased to announce the launch of Surveillance Watch, an interactive map and resource that documents the hidden connections within the opaque surveillance industry: https://www.surveillancewatch.io/

@alshafei The irony of this only apparently working on Chrome or Safari
-
@narinarinari Loads fine on Firefox & Brave as well, admittedly not on Tor & Mullvad - we're extremely limited by resources so there's only so much we can do as volunteers here. It's not perfect.
-
Yep, works for me on Firefox as well.
-
@jdp23 @alshafei @narinarinari Not on Librewolf though...is it maybe a setting I need to change?
-
Not sure, when I try it in Librewolf I get "There was an error initialising the 3D globe visualisation".
(Aside: I had an older version of Librewolf installed with brew as they recommend, it hadn't auto-updated, when I tried to upgrade it I got an error about not finding xcrun, which means I need to install xcode command line tools ... the dialog initially said it would take 42 hours! Fortunately the upgrade seems to have worked anyhow, whew)
-
@jdp23 @alshafei @narinarinari Thanks - I'm running the latest version of Librewolf, so no idea. @librewolf Any help maybe?
-
@librewolf the site we're having problems with is https://www.surveillancewatch.io/
-
A first step is to set webgl.disabled to false (using about:config). That got me somewhat farther; I can now click on a company name and get the text info in the sidebar, although not the map.
Thanks to @ophiocephalic for the tipoff that it was OpenGL related!
@endolexis @alshafei @narinarinari -
@jdp23 @ophiocephalic @alshafei @narinarinari That did it already for me! Thanks a lot
-
@endolexis great to hear! fedi, it's amazing when it works!
