@julian how difficult would it be to implement that check..? It's because the way I'm using NodeBB, each member has his own personal category and only a certain group is able to create topics in it. Since each member has his own category the admin home page is cluttered with every member's personal category. So it would be awesome if those categories don't show up in the admin's home page. 🙂
Subcategories Only Show for Admins
When logged in as an admin, going to a category that contains subcategories works great. But when logged in as a normal user, the subcategories are not there. Have tried Vanilla, Pewter and Rocket themes. All had the same issue. Has anyone seen this before? I suspect that I am just doing something silly, but I am not sure what it might be.
This isn't on my normal site, this is on Gamrhaus
Permissions are set to guests and normal users can read, right?
Yeah. I'm told by people remotely that on Chrome they are not having the issue. Only seeing it in a Firefox instance that I have here, at the moment. Trying to gather some data as to where this is happening and to whom.
OKay, I can confirm that on this machine here, it is Firefox having the issue. Even Admins on FF have the problem.

I'm not on .5.3, but I don't see that with my theme, which makes me think it's theme oriented unless this is specific to .5.3?
