I strongly believe that you should mention some details about changes in features for both backend and front-end. Not everybody can go through github and track changes.
Thanks for your hard work, BTW.
@julian I suppose it's too late to do much more about it now, but for the next one, we should probably set a hard and fast rule that plugins or themes should have an initial publish date in npm of the month of the competition. So if someone wants to spend the next x months working on the theme of all themes, they could wait until the next comp to officially publish it to npm, this would encourage quality. As I certainly couldn't build a theme in a month.
@Schamper Yeah saw that, sorry. Wrote that post from memory, didn't finish reading the readme regarding the bot creator etc.
You should add the anchor plugin from @almost, im sure he wont mind.
Here's a new plugin entry from me, hopefully this one will stay as a valid entry...
@Schamper I think entries were only valid through October.
@Schamper Ah, well in that case, should be fine.
@julian started in august, finished in october
Yeah I'm not sure if I'm on the same page as everyone else at this point.
@Schamper that's a good post to bring up, because it's vague, and leaves it up to them to choose. So, I'll wait until they make an actual decision and will withhold making judgments until then.
@Tanner in my opinion, don't announce a contest if you're not allowed to start on your submission until a month later.
Also my post just got flagged for spam
Calm down dearies, it's not about the taking part, it's about the making of the plugin.
@a_5mith Is that Harold Saxon?
The second shortlist:
Lesson learned: Our rules for this plugin contest were not adequately codified or communicated to developers. What rules, you ask? Exactly.
In the interest of keeping everything civil and inclusive, we'll be making broad exceptions to submissions that don't satisfy the
published in October || commits in October || NodeBB thread made in October rule.
Next contest will be a rule-fest, just you wait
@julian How do we vote? Or is that coming?
We'll start a poll tomorrow morning
Really impressive, I did not realize there were so many high quality submissions, good luck to everyone! Well, I will win a tshirt, right?
On a related note, how long will the voting last?
Also, are we allowed to publish updates to our plugin/theme based on feedback we got or bugs that we find, while the voting is in process?
