We found it and everyone is jumping all over it 🙂
Are we talking about group chat in the forum interface or some kind of mailer?
No prizes for ideas ?
Is the plugin category the best place to see the list of existing plugins? It is a bit hard to find what is already implemented and what plugins are in demand.
Are there any other place I should look at to get a good sense of the current plugin scene?
I am very excited. Will start hacking on my first plugin this weekend
There is a plugin request thread as well as this
If you want to take a good look at available plugins, install NodeBB and check the plugin list through ACP.
There's also this which is the API powering the plugin list in the ACP. It still has a lot of work to go, we put it on the back burner atm to focus on more important things. Eventually it will be located at
http://plugins.nodebb.org and will be linked to this community for comments ala blog comment plugin.
I just wanted to add that if you win the premium hosting packages, we will be more than happy to export data back to you to host on your own server after the year is up. Just let us know
Hmm hopefully I can get a decent plugin together by the end of the month. Some NBB gear would be neat to have. Shame I already released a "plugin" (to call it that is being generous), I'd prefer the odds of being in the newbie category
How can we participate ?
Lets try mine own plugin 0.0.1 release: https://github.com/svandecappelle/nodebb-plugin-charts
Cool :3 cannot wait to see the winning theme!
@svandecappelle, I think plugins only qualify if they are released for the first time this month.
So, other than myself, is anyone working on a last-minute submission?
@Ted yeah I am almost done with my first plugin, going to submit it later tonight or tomorrow. There is still a whole day and some left in October
@arasbm, glad to see I'm not alone then
Woo hoo! Thanks @Schamper
@Ted The first release was created on Oct 19, 2014
My submission is the Tron theme, which is semi-quasi-almost-pretty-much-finished as it stands now.
Here is the shortlist (actually, it's the complete list, but I just wanted to say "shortlist".) of entries for the Plugin & Theme Bonanza!
Edit: Considering adding @Almost from BitBangers for http://bitbangers.co.uk/topic/132/nodebb-plugin-anchors
nodebb-plugin-Charts (@svandecappelle) had a number of upgrades made to it the month of October, but it was technically started in May True to his word, the plugin was not released until October 19th, so it gets a bit grey there
nodebb-plugin-Teamspeak (@pitaj) was removed as it was started in late September, but was included initially as @pitaj is considered a new dev. We'll let the public decide (same with the teamspeak-widget plugin)
nodebb-plugin-codepen (@a_5mith) is still included as the npm registry lists its publish date as:
"0.1.0": "2014-10-02T18:49:29.226Z, so again, grey, like the charts plugin
@julian You missed Tanners theme. Is it not good enough for entry? If I don't win, I'm taking my ball and going home!
@Tanner Jury's out on that one, since it was started in August :shipit:
Also, it would happen to be the only theme on the poll, since Cucina was released Nov 2nd XD
