Yeah that's still in, the bug was you were getting the notification even if you are online.
Too Many Desktop Notifications

I just had a user report that he is receiving multiple desktop notifications every time I post a reply to him. Just a wild guess, but I think it is sending a notification for him following me, the fact that I am sending him an @user, and the fact that he favorited the whole thread and my specific reply. (he is getting 4X notifications)

I haven't checked for a while now, but at least a few weeks ago the notifications got multiplied by the amount of opened tabs/windows of the board.
This may be a problem too

Notifications now favour the longer notification, (assuming you're running a relatively up to date master) you do receive a notification for each open tab though unfortunately.
