I didn't think that Nodebb could be improved much more but once again I am surprised and enjoying !
Well done guys 👊
Does anyone have a guide on how to install NodeBB on Windows Azure as a web site?
This guide : https://docs.nodebb.org/en/latest/installing/os/windows8.html doesn't work on Windows Azure ?
@unixfox I'm using the free tier of Windows Azure Web Sites. I don't think I have OS access. http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/web-sites/
@jbenamy I tried it once a long time ago and failed because of a few native dependencies failing to install, but a lot have been replaced with non-native dependencies. In theory you should be able to install it fine with that control panel thing you can access (starts with a K...), I'd say give it a try, if it works make a tutorial out of it
@unixfox Azure websites are a great deal cheaper than VM's
I actually will be changing environments because I don't want to pay to just test an installation of NodeBB, and Azure doesn't have a free tier for databases, only web sites.
@jbenamy You could always install it on your desktop PC
@julian I like to isolate stuff like that so I'll probably just throw up an Ubuntu-Server VM on my desktop's virtualbox.
Perfect! Please let us know how it goes
I'm just wondering if this has been updated and is now available for azure?
Guys Now we can easily deploy Node.Js application to Azure website..
To try it just try File New NodeJs project in Visual Studio and right click deploy on Azure WEbsite, I have just tested it..
Now further work is to Import NodeBB source Code in Visual Studio Node.JS project template..
Although I am not sure how to manage Redis on Azure..
