Not really -- as mentioned prior, the reason this is impossible is because the redis database doesn't usually live in a place that is readable by NodeBB.
There are ways to dump Redis data into JSON, so all is not lost.............
Pinoy, huh? Have a look at our transifex page: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/nodebb/
Would love to see a Tagalog translation going on for NodeBB (I'm from Malaysia, your neighbour - kumusta!) Transifex allows everyone to pitch in with translating, you don't need to know how to code to translate. It's really straightforward. Hope you or some of your members can help out
For your forum, pls if you can provide a dump either @bentael or one of us can have a shot. Otherwise as above you can convert to a forum that we already support for importers, then you can import in a two-stage process.
I too would like to see an importer for XenForo to NodeBB. I think this would make for a good free alternative to those looking to get away from the drama surrounding the development there.
@oldschooldsl What drama is this? Know a few that use Xenforo.
@a_5mith Possibly drama surrounding XF as XF was an offshoot of the original vB development team? Let me see...
Edit: Hell, from what I can tell, vB sued Xenforo...
@bentael I can give you a xenforo db if you want.
@Flexi-Hackify Would be great. I'm running three xenforo forums but xenforo does not come even close to nodebb...nodeBB is the shit
How is about 1.0.2 nodebb version? Is there any way to import xenforo data now?
@Artem-Alekseev read what bentael wrote 9 months ago.
It doesn't support 1.0.2 yet
DOES NOT SUPPORT NODEBB V0.9.3+ YET! you can import to 0.9.2, then when you're done and happy git checkout v0.9.3 ./nodebb upgrade Works with NodeBB stable v0.9.2 git clone https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB.git cd NodeBB git checkout v0.9.2 npm install node app --setup
NodeBB 1.x support soon people, soon ...
firstname.lastname@example.org now supports NodeBB v1.0.0
