Never have I felt so vindicated, or so shitty about being vindicated, as I do whenever I recall being loudly booed at an SF convention ten years ago for saying “Elon Musk is not Tony Stark, he’s not your friend, & he’s not out to save anyone or anything.”

@Catvalente He's out to save money and collect it, like every other ruthless rich sod, he's playing monopoly. These billionaires all around the globe could do endless good with their wealth instead they amass it, they hold it, gather it, breed it. It's all bullshit. They could literally be celebrated as God like figures by housing the homeless, feeding the poor, doing good science, helping to teach the young, making massive advances in health, instead they invest in social media and spaceships.
