A screen. With connections on it! π₯° (yeah Iβve been in France too long, itβs nice to be back in Germany)

Forgot to post this in the chaos earlier. This was Aachen - Welkenraedt #CrossBorderRail But Iβve been there a few* times before

Whatβs not to like about an on-time ICE Frankfurt-Leipzig? It even has a #BeerOnTrains holder
-
Leipzig Hbf
An immense and amazing station
-
Meanwhile Hector and Flix have pulled in. Which sounds like a dodgy detective duo!
-
Right!
Everything is re-mapped and re-calculated. So assessments!

Given the dozens of times Iβve been to both Leipzig and Dresden on #CrossBorderRail, and even passed Riesa en route to Chemnitz, I think this is the first time ever Iβm taking a Leipzig - Dresden train
But itβs dark so Iβve got no idea what Iβm missing
-
Dresden Hbf. Different layout to Leipzig (through tracks above and beside the terminus tracks) but impressive nonetheless

And this train stops at Obervogelgesang which translates roughly as βUpper bird songβ
Which is a nice name for a place π¦π¦’
-
Some passengers left at Pirna so I have the whole upper floor of the carriage to myself
This is the sort of train the French would cut. But the Germans and Czechs keep these - these late (and early) trains are vital for the resilience of the rail system
Iβd not intended to take this. But Iβm damned glad itβs here when I need it!
