Hello all,
We are in need of a Front End Developer/Designer to assist us on the ongoing projects.
This will be a part-time 6 month contract with the possibility of extension up to 1 year.
If you are interested, please apply here.
Thank you!
Following up from here, in the lead-up to ForumCon, the NodeBB developers are hosting a Google Hangouts AMA (Ask Me Anything) session!
Date: Monday, June 16th, 2014
Time: 20:00 (8pm) Eastern Daylight Time (GMT -0400)
Location: Google Hangouts, link will be posted here (and twitter, and facebook, etc) when it begins.
Tell your friends, tell everybody! We'll be talking about ForumCon and some really exciting things we have planned for NodeBB v0.5.0 and beyond. Hope to see you there!
Whoops... turns out nobody was allowed to reply in this forum. I've enabled regular replies by registered users.
Will it be recorded? I'd like to see it, but might not be available then.
@zenkamal It could be arranged -- most likely just audio.
@julian "Hangouts on air" will allow you to cast it to youtube at the same time, however only 10 can watch/participate. Which sucks.
Just a reminder to everybody...
The AMA is tonight!! 8 o'clock eastern time (-4 GMT)
See you all there!
Link, pretty please?
@zenkamal Hi
[Link Removed]
Edit: Have never done this before haha... giving this Hangouts On Air thing a try, thaks to @a_5mith
Edit 2: As it turns out, if I leave and re-join, I am no longer moderator, so so much for that! Will start it up and post the link when I get home
no one should have to to see me at 4am. Any chance this could be recorded onto YouTube? Or even audio only.
Takeaways from the AMA:
-NodeBB may become faster (??!)
-Lack of @a_5mith was felt
-NodeBB needs a celebrity backer
-0.5 coming get reaaddddy

Can't wait for the next one. Thanks for answering all of our questions.
Thanks guys for that, it was great
Lots of fun, we'll try to schedule another post 0.5.0, hopefully at a better time for those of us in Europe/Asia
Sorry I missed it! Did you guys by chance record to YouTube?
Trolled at 18:42 & 20:20 LOL
Apologies for missing this, being tired and working out timezones isn't my strong point, anyway, just watched through it, few things I picked up on and would have asked while the conversation was ongoing.
For things like Global Moderators etc, a Moderator log would be useful, so an admin can see which moderator has deleted or editted which posts etc. Then to set yourself apart from other forum software, show what was actually changed. I often see edits, and wonder what was said etc before it was removed. So something like github with the + and the - would be cool. But not a necessity
The other thing was the plugins and the plugin system. With 0.5.0 coming soon, this should negate the issue of plugins breaking forums for whatever reason, however I don't think this will stop certain admins trying to install them anyway through npm, perhaps they go into the Plugins Category on this site and just drop npm commands into Terminal. Maybe an out of date plugin has functionality that someone really wants, but the plugin author has gone AWOL and it hasn't been updated for example. I've had a Pull Request on the spotify plugin for a few days, but the guy who built it hasn't been around for about 3 months. At what point do I make a new one and call it nodebb-plugin-spotify-v2?
Oh and who was the dog?
