Upgrading to 2.0.0 crashed the forum

    Upgrade did not work
    I tried a clean install of 2.0.0 and a connection to the previous Mongo database
    Search did not work
    I tried to turn off the plugin and build again
    And did not work
    Attached are the steps from the terminal

    You don't run ./nodebb setup to upgrade.

    • pkill -9 node to kill off NodeBB running on the machine.
    • ./nodebb upgrade to upgrade
    • ./nodebb start to start

    As for search... try re-indexing the forum content from the DB Search plugin page in the ACP.

    Basically, I was just installing the modules, which nodebb meant where missing.
    that did the job.

    This is my solution,

    Im sure I wont be the first person to ask this.
    I need to have some extra info on a landing page, where people can login before going to forum page.
    Im a moderate coder, so know how to get input fields. But then how do I pass username & password to the forum page to login automatically? I did see there is a tutorial for landing page but that didnt seem to have login function?
    For security, is it better the landing page hashes the password and only passes that through in hashed format?

    NodeBB is on version 1.1.0 so the command should use v1.1.x.

    1.11.0 worked fine for me.
