    Alright, i think i have something I can definitely pay you for!! If anyone's interested,

    Craigslist has this great function. All posts are tagged with a location on a map. you can either select your current location or type one in.

    The great part about this is you can now search for posts by location on a map. This makes finding people, events, and items for sale really easy.

    It doesn't work too well on craigslist. Using a map inside of a frame of a browser window is messy because of all the keyboard shortcuts and mouse shortcuts it takes.

    I'd like it if threads showed "distance" from current location.

    This is something I'll never do on my own in a million years!

    There's also many plugins similar to this idea for wordpress.

    @psychobunny I'm very interested in a completely custom theme.
    We have a site launching soon using nodebb. I'd like to have a "news" section on the front page and the forums listed as "community" similar to what you have here.

    We are a non-profit that raises funds for other non-profits as well as pretty much any good cause.
    We have an "in-house" crypto currency that can be merge mined with Litecoin.
    100% of our profits each month go to a worthy cause selected by our members. One thing we would really love to have is a polling feature.

    Tons of other little things I would like to see done as well. If you're interested please feel free to contact me.

    Hello all.

    I have been away, busy moving ugh, but I would like to use NodeBB for my community site at NE1UP. I have a couple problems. I need a technical-minded person to get me set up. Preferably someone who might like to work on building a fun forum together based on this software. That's first. I would be willing to pay for the dev team/person to, or an involved/adept community member. Preferably someone who wouldn't mind being on call - if anything goes wrong, um, I'm more marketing guy. 🙂

    I actually have no other problem. I wanted to say, I like the idea @kevin had and would be willing to pay and help offset the cost since I too think that would be great for the community, also possibly my own site. 😉

    I would also be interested in helping out with any other really desired/cool plugins or even themes anyone might suggest in the future.

    More specifically, the issue is that it defines a static directory in plugin.json:

    "staticDirs": { "s3": "public" },

    But doesn't have it.

    It seems to be an artifact of people forking and updating it without fully understanding what exactly it was doing - looking back at some history at some point someone moved the templates from public/templates to just templates/ and apparently NodeBB wasn't enforcing that directories have to exist at that point, so it wasn't noticed and all future forks inherited this bug.

    NodeBB is IMO doing fine here - a lack of directory a plugin declared to have might suggest some issue with the installation or the plugin itself (for example a typo in a path). A plugin incorrectly declaring something it doesn't use can't really be distinguished from these issues.

    Also, @julian while .gitignore works, I feel like it's a bit of abuse of that feature and the name is misleading (upon seeing a directory with .gitignore my first thought would be that something is supposed to go there but will be ignored. And I feel without knowing much about git I might've assumed it meant the whole directory would be ignored by git - the opposite of what it actually does). I personally prefer the convention of using an empty file named .gitkeep (or just .keep), since it more obviously refers to keeping the directory and wouldn't have any other potential impact on files included by git.

    I executed your steps and did not report any errors after restarting, but I did not find any changes. I would like to ask, if the above operation is successful, what changes should I see?🙄

    I'm fine with it being each. But that's really a separate issue. The app.load hook is not where we should be modifying templates.

    Will there be a new theme for version .5?

    Just curious (from an excitement for the next version standpoint). The current themes are already leaps and bounds better than other forum scripts.
