This post is deleted!

How come when I delete the first post it still shows up in the
category.tpl
view as active with 0 posts. Weird. Is this intended? -
Yeah... original behaviour was if every post was deleted, the topic would auto-delete. For one reason or another (@baris can explain), we changed this...
I think because we now change the post to .5 opacity with the text "This post is deleted!", though in that case, the actual post count in the topic shouldn't go down...

@julian If OP is deleted, the topic surely becomes null/void. Having said this though, I can see why this is default behaviour, as if you've got a large topic going on, and OP suddenly decides to delete first post, that entire topic is lost along with all posts. Which seems a little blunt if there's good discussion going on.
Maybe not allowing you to delete the first post would be a better idea, or rather than actually deleting it, it flags it for moderator attention (user wants to delete topic) or something. Probably a little overly complicated though for such a small task.

While unfortunate, the loss of OP content is still better than the entire topic being deleted
I believe Reddit follows the same philosophy
That makes sense. I think of a few scenarios where it would be acceptable and a good idea to have.
