I just upgraded to the current git version of nodebb after I noticed that upgrading to 0.4.3. removed the Reply and New Topic buttons (no idea why that happened). The upgrade fixed that, but now when I try to create a new topic I just get the message "Category doesn't exist" when I click Submit (reply works though).
I'm running nodebb on Windows using mongodb. I had problems with categories before but managed to fix it manually, see https://community.nodebb.org/topic/1434/category-disappeared
Can't select users in admin panel
Seems to work for me on latest, check the usual suspects
- make sure nodebb core and themes (vanilla lavender etc) are up to date.
I actually have a few errors in the admin panel as well, but I didn't know if it was just me.
ReferenceError: utils is not defined http://localhost:4567/src/app.js? Line 80 TypeError: socket is undefined http://localhost:4567/src/forum/admin/footer.js Line 30 TypeError: socket is undefined http://localhost:4567/src/modules/settings.js Line 378
Node Environment is
developmentso cache shouldn't be an issue... Besides that I've tried with disabling my browser cache. I've also tried updating the lavendar theme multiple times, it's at 0.0.25-12, but it's still happening.
The errors also stops ajaxing the pages, it can only cold-load.
Edit: latest git version of NodeBB btw
I'll take a look and see if I can reproduce.
@baris Tried both. Still not working
Which theme are you using?
Any luck on this?
Couldn't reproduce on redis, will try on mongo today, @Schamper you guys are on mongo right?
Tried with mongo works there as well, lavender version 0.0.25-14, vanilla version 0.0.19-50. I'm not getting those js errors
Hmm... I just did a
npm install nodebb-theme-vanillaand it magically started working again. I've done a couple
npm install's before but they didn't help.
I both hate and love it when issues magically resolve themselves...
Does it resolve the other issue with login?
@baris didn't see your reply but yes, it seems to have fixed that as well. It now shows the correct buttons etc instead of login / register.
I did what @Schamper did and that resolved it. Something was out of sync, but appears to be all working now.
If you run
it specifically updates both Vanilla and the current default theme, Lavender. so after a
git pull, make sure you run that command and you should be good
