Where can I find information on animated themes / animating theme attributes?

General Discussion
  • Hey there all,
I am just getting my feet wet with this amazing platform but had a quick question. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to add some slight animations upon loading / changing views, or if there are any themes out that already include this? An example of what I am looking for would be best seen here: https://demo.themehouse.com/xf2/themes/ As you click around you will notice some really nice smooth slide in type animations that cascade up/down or in from a side, etc. If anyone could point me in the right direction as to how this might be achieved in NodeBB, I would be most appreciative.

Thank you in advance for your time!

  • I don't actually see any animations, although I didn't click around all that much. They animated their login screen, but that's because the login is part of every page (where it is separate on NodeBB)

  • Oh? Is this not what you see when you click the link? I know it allows you to switch themes on the fly, but the one I was referring to was the one that came up in this link when I first went there. (looks like you have to click it, I don't think it will play the .gifv here on the board it doesn't look like)

    Hi all
When I was using Persona theme, the avatars of the group members used to show on the main groups page (/groups)

I'm now using Lavender. Is there a way to show these avatars here now?
Otherwise, what is the white space for?

    Thanks so much

35hz.co.uk - Lavender with a custom light/dark theme switcher in the header next to the search button.

    That's about it.

Edit: Need to fix the avatars, 🙂

    Hi all,

I am not familiar with all the coding terms (newbie) but I'm learning! Trying to create a static page on my nodebb site. So I installed the custom static page plugin, created a new button in navigation that should route to the new page, and I'm trying to edit the widget in "Extend Widget". Nothing is working and this page keeps coming up: Screen Shot 2015-06-12 at 10.53.00 AM.png

Can someone please tell me in simple terms how to edit the custom static page, and route it correctly?? Thanks!

Hey @Giorgio-Chiodi -- the hosted service does not provide administrators with the ability to directly access their server/instance, which is part of how we can maintain stability on our platform.

You can grant us access to a theme you created (if it is on npm), and we can install it for you, but we cannot ensure compatibility with them 🙂
