@dunlix either way, if you don't have a config.json, it starts the web installer:
config.json: url not asked when installing
The url in config.json gets set to
http://localhost:4567but it's not actually asked when installing.
Shouldn't it be asked when installing?
It should, yes... how are you invoking setup? There are multiple ways, but
./nodebb setupshould ask it as the first question.
I'm using the web setup.

localhost:4567is just assumed and must be changed in
portin the config.json
urlseemed to break emojis.
I had this in the url:
http:/forums.domain.com:4567and emojis didn't work. I took the port out and emojis worked.
The port is defined elsewhere in the config, so it probably doesn't need to be in the url?
That is correct. The port if not defined at all is assumed to be 4567, and should only be in the url if the port is required to access the site.
