I didn't watch that specific video, but you can definitely use a custom domain for NodeBB. Most people are using custom domains.
I decided the question in a different way
My System is Windows, MongoDB also this is the hash or output of git rev-parse HEAD: 902da5402918dbe99c5f298ce769b0b1994739b5
I have switched theme it doesn't fix, run upgrade, dev mode even that doesn't help.

@Nisthar Ok. That was because of markdown plugin being disabled.
I had to enable "Allow HTML" option to make redactor plugin to work.

@Defaultuser You can also install custom pages and other plugins to make nodebb as a webpage. Check out my page, https://www.jenkler.se (Its in swedish but you get the point i guess) 😛

My URL value in config.json was : "url": "http://forum.xxx.fr/"
I deleted the "/" at the end and everything went back to normal.
Don't know how this "/" appears.
