Yeah it's a known issue you'll have to relink sometimes. It depends on what npm version and OS you're using.
How to get rid of this warning: Unable to read plugin.json for plugin `nodebb-plugin-custom-plugin`
I renamed an existing custom plugin named 'map' to 'details'. And followed the same steps to reinstall the 'new' plugin (details) like creating the soft links etc. But I forgot to explicitly uninstall the map plugin first and due to which I get the following warning when I restart the nodebb.
7/1 15:19:27  - warn: [upgrade/appendPluginScripts] Unable to read plugin.json for plugin `nodebb-plugin-map`. Skipping.
How can I get rid of this warning?

./nodebb reset -p nodebb-plugin-map
