Not a NodeBB specific test, but a NodeJS one, and just an isolated example, but suggests that Node at least is far faster on Linux. Now keep in mind this is old so pretty much worthless as a test. I'm interested to do some real testing, though.
MongoDB wont connect
Upon starting my NodeBB forum, It came to my attention it wasnt actually loading. So I checked the log to find this
"./nodebb stop" to stop the NodeBB server
"./nodebb log" to view server output
"./nodebb restart" to restart NodeBB

I've got no clue how this happened. Since I didnt actually change anything at all. It was fine before I went to sleep, then I woke up and started it. And this is here.
You didn't post the entire log. Open up logs/output.log and paste the entire error message.
Make sure mongo is running
