What sort of effort would it take to log users being added or removed from groups, along with the user that added/removed them?
It appears to work fine on this forum. What version of NodeBB? What do you mean when you say it disappears? Can you record your screen?
So after researching a little more I found my answer inside the plugin.json of the quickstart-plugin.
Adding a staticDirs key inside the plugin.json like that adds the static dirs inside /assets/plugins/your-plugin-name/.

Just to put this issue to bed. I trashed the old forum. Installed new. New git clone... new database. Problem solved.
