@jwildeboer may I ask where can you find it for that price? I was looking to buy my first printer and checked the Prusa Mini which seems to start at β¬459 and the Bambu Lab A1 mini on their EU store is listed at β¬354 (discount from β¬497).

@robbmihaly Thatβs the A1 Mini with the AMS lite combo. Switch to just the A1 mini without the AMS and you are at 199β¬ plus 7β¬ for shipping. https://eu.store.bambulab.com/products/a1-mini/?variant=49098521117020&skr=yes

@robbmihaly I donβt need or want multi-material printing and I also simply donβt have the space for the AMS, so I got the simple version

@jwildeboer hah, I missed that option when I opened the store, thanks! I also don't need the AMS neither have much space, just looking for something to start with for a reasonable price. This looks really good, thank you for sharing!

@jwildeboer IANA(P)L but Bambulab's patent (applications) have the potential of stifling innovation as well https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/12kmg3x/bambus_patents_a_brief_summary/

@swym Are they actively suing competitors with their patents, the way Stratasys is doing right now against them?
-

@jwildeboer no yet AFAICT. Stratasys has been holding its patents for years before starting to enforce them, Bambulab is just getting started... why hold a patent if you're not planning to enforce it.
Either way it's not a great look to enter a space that's been driven by open source innovation and start filing loads of patents for trivial things. -

@swym Two of the patents that Stratasys uses against Bambu Lab are originally from Makerbot. Remember them? The company that promised to be like totally open and supportive of the community but then happily sold out to Stratasys after filing patents for things they took from the community.
