Watching the #reMarkable Paper Pro launch video and it's just HILARIOUS to me how everyone is wearing 'coded for wealthy but we won't explicitly say so' coded colours and clothing.

Not a Primary colour to be seen, lots of unbranded flowy clothing.
All Browns, Beige, Cream.
Also the 'film language' / Aesthetic used is so 'Apple lite' it's almost like a parody.

@Faintdreams the video direction was a bit cringe for me too. The only person that looked mildly candid was the founder, but even his lines were a little over produced and sounded fake.

The CEO made a dig at other companies producing new products more than every 3 years and like BRO - that is not the flex you think it is !
" Other companies want to make Numbers Go Up because they produce new Widget each year. We took Three years to make OUR Widget because we want to make Numbers Go Up with QUALITY items instead of Incremental Improvements "

@Faintdreams frankly I agree with that.
reMarkable is a tiny company, if they'd try to release a device every year, they'd burn out quite quickly and probably get worse products. I like them because they're the underdog that still makes great products.
The only direction in which I'd like them to move faster it's the software, where reasonable features lie unexplored due to, probably, small team size and focus on bullshit features that can have a bigger return of investment.

Their release cycle is obviously up to them to choose, but throwing Shade at other companies that don't do R&D the same way they do is .. not classy.
Also they keep trying to stealth the subscription part of their business which makes me side eye them quite hard.

@Faintdreams sorry to get negative but defending capitalists that churn SKUs every year all in the name of consumerism is even less classy in my opinion.
And to be hypocritical and defend the capitalists myself: maybe being from the Nordics the political correctness of not dissing your competition is not as much of a quality to them as the puritan business culture of the US would lead one to believe.
