It’s funny: I went over to X to start planning a purge of posts, and noticed that it’s easy to find the infosec people there by searching for “infosec.exchange” since many, many people have that in their display names 🤨

@jerry warning that purging your post ... do not remove them.
Someone recently deleted everything and requested an archive and he had everything he had posted.

@girlintech @jerry not sure how long that lags behind the live data but yeah
e.g., deleted it -> queued for deletion
archive -> pull from the latest snapshot
curious how it actually works O.o

@risottobias @jerry I know that law abiding system can take up to a year to delete every copy in every backup.
But knowing the fact Musk don't care about law at all, it would not surprise me if they where never deleted at all.

@girlintech @jerry or if how they indicate it is how it actually is presented
secure deletion seems like a thorny problem O:

@risottobias @jerry Yeah, secure deletion is a complete contradiction to secure backup, which is meant to prevent data loss. So, mixing them up creates a mess that every company’s IT department has headaches trying to find a way to make it work (more or less).
