Is it possible to abandon walled gardens? What should be done?
A post in which I set the starting point to get rid of centralized social networks and in which I bet on federated #WordPress #blogs, #RSS and #Fediverse as a solution to the crossroads in which we have found ourselves.

@acambronero We must keep in touch, I'm trying my best to get rid of centralized socials but, for example, I doubt I can convince my users to subscribe #rss

@acambronero You talk about SIGNAL? It might be secure for sighted people but NOT for blind users, due to its captcha feature which forces to send data to a third-party service, to get rid of visual captcha in accessible format.

@talksina I installed it on my mobile phone and didn't have to fill out any captcha but I will look into it. Thanks for the input.

@acambronero what would you suggest me to do? I'm trying to find a good privacy-oriented newsletter service but most of them have huge accessibility issues - if you're sighted you're open to the world, if you're blind like me, you're mostly screwed.

@talksina Yes, it is true that accessibility is rarely the focus. It is a problem.
