Hey just wanted to say "thanks" to @a_5mith for creating the SMF importer/exporter thing! Haven't tried it out yet but it's nice to see that it exists (even if you do have to upgrade in a roundabout way). Also adding these terms to the thread so that people can find it when searching (turns out nobody said "SimpleMachines" or "Simple Machines", just SMF).

Heya lads, First off, considering this is my first post, I have to say: awesome software. I love NodeBB - it's fast, has great features and looks pretty. What more could you want? I was testing the performance of our board and decided to check how it would function without JavaScript. I noticed that even when using a localized version (NL), the NoScript warning message appears to be hardcoded in English (in header.tpl). "Your browser does not seem to support JavaScript. As a result, your viewing experience will be diminished, and you have been placed in read-only mode. Please download a browser that supports JavaScript, or enable it if it's disabled (i.e. NoScript)." Could you perhaps turn this into a language-based string? Or, even better, make the message editable from the ACP? For now I'll just edit the text directly in the html. Thanks!

Have the sub forums show on the main board like discourse has. As an option. Main forum title little description sub forum 1, sub forum 2, etc

Lately, I've been tweaking my site to improve touch capability- and have been eyeing a couple features. Its possible for forum owners to add these themselves, but some of them really might wanna be core. Touch Sidebars are really needed: https://github.com/jakiestfu/Snap.js Something like fastclick might be nice: https://github.com/ftlabs/fastclick And I've yet to find a clean way to do it, but many web apps send push notifications on android- would that be possible to integrate?

The imgbed plugin removes the need for adding in markdown. You just paste the URL of the image and it adds the markdown on the fly using regexp.

uh-oh, also need this. Didnt know that it would be difficult to have the owner of a group be in control of a subcategory for that group.

Also ACP related scripts are part of nodebb.min.js... It isn't good, especially when you create rich ACP UX.

Add a step by step guide for dummies - multi-language. That will show users how they use forum features ? !

It is a pain to have to wade through all categories - I agree. I can't even find an option to configure what guests can and cannot do generally - or do I miss something? Are there scripts that can do this?

Revamping the system is a large ask, and while it's on the to-do, it is not on the very top of the list. That said, we do recognise that the community very much wants this functionality, so it's not at the bottom either

One of the things im starting to like on nodebb is the ability to create groups and have a little something for them like the header and users posts. If everything is over modules, why its not on widgets? I would love to have change some stuff on the fly like on custom pages plugin. Ex: show a particular category posts for that group.. show a possible calendar (this plugin this works?!) and so on...
