This topic totally went under the radar (next time file issues on GH )
Updated the markdown plugin as per @yariplus' suggestion and they look good now (see @pier's OP).
Necroing this because this is the first thread on Google when searching for NodeBB table markdown syntax.
@Bri Thanks for the reply. I believe that if you do that with the current flat reply system the conversation would become very confusing. You would need the system to be chronological to preserve the discusssion and then maybe switch to highest vote order after a while. Not sure this would work very nicely. This may be resolvable with nested replies but I was trying to find a simpler solution.
My thought was, if you think about a new user who is trying to find the answer to a question, they will arrive at the forum based on a google search and end up on a particular topic. From there they will try to find the best answer to the question that the chain of replies has to offer. I would like them to be able to do this easily without reordering the posts or trying to decide where the conversation ended, which a new user is unlikely to want to do. I was thinking we could highlight the post in its location in the chronological stream and also place it at the top in a green box, just underneath the original topic post.
I think this is probably not that hard to do. I am in the process of exploring the plugin system to see if this is possible.
So, making a forum with some of the same subcategories is a huge pain in the ass when I can only copy some of the settings and not the whole category. Would love to see support for this added
@julian If you want to preserve the flat forum style does it follow that q&a is not recommended on the nodebb platform or do you have a better work flow to suggest.
I am happy to do things a different way, but I guess users looking for answers who don't want to post questions will most likely look for a highest voted answer or something like this.
No ideas?
The link to the source of the plugin is : nodebb-plugin-ns-login
I want to replace the res.json(user); line 103 by the total unread for the user... but i'm not familiar with nodebb code architecture and don't know how to get this value... i hope somebody can help me^^

Not at all, no need to apologize, sometimes I can get bitter before my coffee
Happy to discuss the merits of the existing navigator, or any suggested improvements, here.
Hi!
It would be great if there was a global setting to automatically thumbnail images in posts without user interaction.
I would really appreciate if it could be an admin setting where you could set a thumbnail-size for all uploaded images, if you click on them they will show the original image in full size.
I know there is a plugin (nodebb-plugin-image-sizer) that does resize images, but requires user knowledge.
Thanks!

Already supported as far as I know. Although bare bones, if you quote individual posts, it will add them all into composer.

Is multi-quote on the road-map at all?

@tkiblin when you have the composer open you can click the quote button on posts and it will add all of then to your composer window, not exactly the same but better than nothing
Hmm, interesting, better than nothing I guess.
@Iman-Tumorang you can place on the page using widgets
go to extend > widgets and then select from available widgets on the right side and drag to the left to where you want it to show.
example: you can show forum stats by dragging it to the footer
