nodebb-plugin-dbsearch and nodebb-plugin-solr use those hooks 🙂

We unofficially take abandoned plugins under the NodeBB umbrella... but don't want to set a precedent... otherwise that org is going to be a dumping ground for half-finished, broken NodeBB plugins 😄

Not yet, looking to use it soon but don't want to add more plugins while chat and other features are broken.

Filtered channels and private conversations are a great approach, but I think NodeBB won't go that way in the future.
So esoTalk is an alternative to NodeBB because it's also fast and comfortable to use.

The combination with all the benefits of both would be the absolute best solution...

Tip: You can also change the font easily under the Custom CSS section in ACP.

Example:

@a_5mith I have a new issue now but it could be because I am running the rc version but I installed the latest version available (v0.5.0-2) but I am getting huge CPU spikes randomly from the forum that makes the server sluggish for up to 5 minutes.

@esiao Just changed the font to Raleway, then back again, and it's not doing it now. Seems to have automagically fixed itself. Or Google are playing with something. 😕

NodeBB is pretty fascinating, I'm glad I found you. I have a couple big forums stuck on vBulletin and I'm trying to figure out how to modernize. Deep diving on Discourse and you.
